If you know me, then the last two words that would come to mind when thinking of me would be “travel” and “leisure”. None the less I am honored to have graced the pages of their April 2008 issue. In this issue they take a good long look at the San Francisco Bay area, and the artist in residency program at the S.F. dump in particular. A few weeks ago some nice folks from the San Jose Museum of Art came to my studio to talk about the work I am lending for their upcoming show. We talked a bit about my process in general before moving on to the specifics of my new piece “Little Big Man”. The work is finished now and can be seen as part of the show “Robots: Evolution of a Cultural Icon” from April 12 – October 19, 2008 at the San Jose Museum of Art.
The San Jose Museum of Art has asked for a giant robot for a show in the spring of 2008. They also requested a short video describing the process that goes into my sculptures. Much thanks to Eric Leppo for filming.
