The Beholder

This one’s bark is definitely worse than its bite.
Turning the knob on his chest counter-clockwise winds the motor in his belly. Once the spring is sufficiently contracted, a red LED behind his eye switches on to let you know he’s ready. A steady ticking racket ensues accompanying a slow side to side movement of his all-seeing eye.
Every element was found — scrap yards, second-hand stores, dumpsters — then cleaned, stripped, sorted and rebuilt. Found aluminum is TIG-welded and sanded seamless; nothing is cast. The electronics are salvaged from consumer devices, repaired and rewired so the piece does something when you touch it.
Materials
Everything in this piece had a previous life. Nemo’s own inventory, in his words.
Motorcycle gear cases, clothes hanger, chair back, door knob, glass taxidermy eye, LED, wind up motor, brass knob, salad forks, table leg mounts, misc aluminum and brass.
