It all starts with a conversation
Each sculpture that I produce is one of a kind, fashioned from rare and unique materials, but the character and energy of that sculpture can often be re-examined in new work. If you are interested in commissioning an original work:
How a commission works
I first ask that you browse my portfolio and select a few of the pieces that appeal to you the most. This will help our conversation begin on a shared understanding of what is most compelling to you.
From there we will discuss what your particular needs and budget are. At this point I will spend some time selecting materials that I think could work, and share with you some photos of objects and perhaps simple sketches.
If we agree that our vision is in sync, I will then ask for a 50% deposit of our agreed budget and begin work. I will share progress reports with you to ensure that things are heading in the right direction.
Once the composition firms up, I will ask that you place your trust in me to bring it to the best possible outcome, with the understanding that the process is fluid, and likely to produce a few surprises.
Not all of my conversations with clients lead to commissions, but none of my commissions have led to failures or incomplete projects.
