The story
This piece was inspired by old paintings and etchings of ships and sea monsters.
In this case it is not entirely clear which is which. Is it a battle, or a love affair?
Every element was found — scrap yards, second-hand stores, dumpsters — then cleaned, stripped, sorted and rebuilt. Found aluminum is TIG-welded and sanded seamless; nothing is cast. The electronics are salvaged from consumer devices, repaired and rewired so the piece does something when you touch it.

Materials
Everything in this piece had a previous life. Nemo’s own inventory, in his words.
Espresso pots, floor polisher, roll-top desk, wood trim, shoe forms, motorcycle brake lever, window security details, aluminum extrusions, baseboard molding, arm chair, motor, halogen lights.
