Piece 95 / 217Creatures2001
The story
This one gets its name from the many vacuum cleaner parts that went into its construction (a theme which you’ll find in many of my earlier pieces).
Turn the crank and it tries to fly away.
Every element was found — scrap yards, second-hand stores, dumpsters — then cleaned, stripped, sorted and rebuilt. Found aluminum is TIG-welded and sanded seamless; nothing is cast. The electronics are salvaged from consumer devices, repaired and rewired so the piece does something when you touch it.

Materials
Everything in this piece had a previous life. Nemo’s own inventory, in his words.
Parts from: vacuum cleaners, antique telephone, meat grinder, bicycle brake levers, paint spray gun.
