Captain Nemo #2

I was really pleased with the results of a recent portrait of Captain Nemo, and wanted to take the idea a little further.

In this case there is more movement, though if you look closely you can still see the tiny Captain at the helm of his ship.

Every element was found — scrap yards, second-hand stores, dumpsters — then cleaned, stripped, sorted and rebuilt. Found aluminum is TIG-welded and sanded seamless; nothing is cast. The electronics are salvaged from consumer devices, repaired and rewired so the piece does something when you touch it.
